Wow!!! "My Little Margie" comics lasted until The Beatles were popular in USA (1964)!!! The TV show only lasted until 1955. That means that the comic book lasted over 10 years! I never would have guessed it was that popular. I suppose that reruns of the TV show were still running then on independent local stations, but this is still incredibly surprising.

The TV show's star, Gale Storm had been a "B" picture "star" since the beginning of the 1940s, and her last starring TV lead part was Susanna in "Oh Susanna", which ended in 1960. So, her first TV series' comic book lasted 4 years past her last TV leading role.

I guess girls bought this comic book series' issues because they needed light entertainment from a teenaged girl's point of view. I wonder if the stories were written by women? I have to admit that I've never read any books from this series.
