The first unsigned story does seem consistent with the second story signed by Charles Nicholas, if only because of how the ears are drawn, which tend to be the most distinct visual when it comes to artists drawing people.

Yesterday I came across a three-part 'The Phantom; story, 'The Last Phantom' [Frew 1218 to 1220] in which he teams up with a character called 'My Old friend, Chou Chan'
Guran, ' The Chinese Triad expert?'
Phantom, ' Yes we fought against the triads and the Singh several times' He would like my help on a case'
And that adventure, according to the footnote, was in [Frew Phantom's 1096-7-8-9 and 1100.] So obviously I'm going to have to track those down too.  And when we meet 'Chou Chan' he is sporting  a familiar hat, bow-tie and facial hair. Mercifully, he speaks perfect English.

And for those who came in late, FREW started publishing the Phantom in 1948, publish every fortnight and have never changed the numbering. 

And yes, these will be Nordic reprints.
