Dynamite is at it again with PD characters. They annoy me with their unlikely and absurd team-ups which are obviously done for marketing purposes.
Case in point, Their new 'limited series/]  Red Sonja: The Superpowers.

In this they team her up with - wait for it - wait for it!
1/ Captain Future
2/ Vana - an Antaclean [?] woman and wife of Martan the Marvel Man. From Dell's golden age Popular comics.
3/ Raven - Police detective Sergeant Danny Dartin is the Raven. From Various titles from ACE Magazines. {Golden Age]
4/ The Sword - Wields Excalibur and has a 'Lancelot-like sidekick - First appearance in Captain Courageous #6 in 1942. 
Covers on this book [Now up to #3] Particularly the Jonathan Lau cover from issue #2, make me think Dynamite is trying to position this group of characters as yet another alternate Big Three/Justice League clone and are using Red Sonja to get an audience for it. Might end up interesting. We can only hope.

That's what it looks like.  Typical of Dynamite and a few other companies.  I despair of Dynamite.  Their comics never seem value for money.  I've said it before, "fur coat, nae knickers".

So, do I get this right?  What are they, nice-looking covers, and NO substance inside at all?

If so, it's a good thing my money's so tight.


I'm looking for a break in major expenses so I can start catchng up on recent stuff (as in, the last 10 years worth) from Gary Carlson, Phil Foglio, Mort Todd & Dan Reed.  (3 of those guys are on my FB "friends" list!)

There's also the series Vampirella: The Superpowers, with different characters, if I recall. That's so unlikely to me that I think I'll read it.
