Interesting starring combination of a historical character (Kit Carson) and a Hollywood Western star (Buck Jones), although basically it's just their names that are used here. Not sure of the date of this comic, but Buck Jones died in 1942 so it's probable that there was no "sales" value attached to his name and most readers probably wouldn't even have realised he was a cowboy actor. The green photo at the end of the book is of Bill Elliott, who made his last Western film in 1954, but again this is probably just used for the Western flavour.

The Buck Jones estate must have been ahead of its time, because they continued to promote him long after his death. Dell published Jones comics in the early 50s and according to the GCDB Buck Jones comics appeared throughout Europe into the 60s. They even list a Brazilian Buck Jones album in 1974. Incidentally, Jones' daughter Maxine was married to Nicholas Firfires, best known as a Cowboy Hall of Fame painter but also the artist on numerous Dell westerns.
