Just bought and read the book 'Appointment in New Orleans' by [and featuring Tod Claymore] Did a search and the search engine sent me right back here to the comment by Andrew999 on the adaptation, called 'The Mystery at the Mardi-Gras'.
Curiously missing from the adaptation is Tod's 9 year old daughter who travels to New Orleans with him and who is present for the whole narrative. l One of Hugh Clevely's characters did make it into films in 'Meet Maxwell Archer' 1940, which I would like to see a copy of.

Here is a list of Hugh Clevely's books, some of which may have been adapted into comics, particularly the Sexton Blake books.

I am also going to have to track down the other 'Tod Claymore' books, because this one is good.
Oh, and can someone please ID the artist for me? He (or she) is good.
