The story "The Flaming Witness" features a character named "Karl Malden." Actor Karl Malden had changed his name from Mladen George Sekulovich in the mid-Thirties and though he'd been acting professionally since then, he began to get widespread attention in films in the early 1950s. The character in this story bears no resemblance to the actor, but it's hard to imagine the name is a coincidence, especially since the real Karl Malden had worked in steel mills, where this story is set.
