I just had a quick gander at some of these Dr Occult stories myself and quite enjoyed them. He's like a cross between Sherlock Holmes and Hellboy. They are very short, so the writer wisely jumps straight into the action. I would like to see a longer story with this character.

Don't forget that one installment of Doctor Occult was renamed Doctor Mystic and was used in Centaur Comics The Comic Magazine #1.

Apparently the founders of Centaur were given comic pages as compensation for payment when they worked for the Major, or they just took them. No one's really sure which.
