I'm not a fan of Dick Briefer's artwork style.  It gets old fairly quickly in a regular series.  But, as a one-shot, unexpected, very-different (unique) shocker, it is top-notch!  #1 is fantastic to see.  It should ALWAYS be seen and read BEFORE seeing any other Frankenstein issues, and even before seeing his first Prize Comics issues, because Briefer changed the spirit of his character and artwork as he moved through The Frankenstein series, and his earlier feature in Prize Comics started with the premise that The Frankenstein.  #1 still has the great blend of eeriness and comedy, before he started moving more and more back towards comedy as he had done in his Prize Comics stories, and eventually (actually, quite soon) ended up with only comedic farce.
