As the title suggests, some new stories are claiming these big names now become PD.
Of course this is with the usual caveats and the most likely scenario is we get a few low-budget horror movies made out of them.

There are, of course, some dangers with these.

From what I hear Betty Boop started off as a dog girl before being redrawn as a human girl in later films which I don't think have entered PD yet.

People talking about some of Pluto's early films had some different takes from what we think of as Pluto.

And the original Nancy Drew story is quite different because the Strattlemeyer syndicate would ocassionally update/rewrite their books (Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, The Bobsie Twins, etc.) so if you do anything with Nancy Drew make sure you are working from the 1930 edition and not the later versions where the character was toned down in her personality. The original author (after her name was revealed to the public) could know if someone had her version or a later version by the first line.
