Since there have been so much superheros in comics and manga, it leaves me wondering which heroes are the worst? Superheroes that are really lame.

I've been out of the current comics loop since the late 90s, so there have surely been other, newer wretched superheroes. Among earlier heroes, one that springs to mind is MF Enterprises' Captain Marvel (the guy who breaks into pieces). I'll admit even that turkey has some "so bad it's good" value. My nomination for "no redeeming value whatever" is Lightning's Tod Holton, Super Green Beret.

What bugs me about worst lists is when they put joke characters on the list, like Arm Fall-Off Boy. Yes, that is a ridiculous power, but THAT was the joke. He wasn't supposed to be seen as a serious super-hero.

Ravage 2099 would probably qualify. I think he was one of the last heroes created by Stan Lee and I don't think Stan had any idea of what direction the guy should go as he seemed to gain new powers every issue.

Oddly enough the first character that came to mind was a French literary superhero who predated comics. I believe he was called the Nyctolope, or something like that. From what I hear his original stories were good, but after the Germans took over France in WWII the writer had him working with German authorities (apparently the author held a similar opinion). Maybe the stories were well written, but once you have your hero working with the Nazis it's hard to have a positive opinion of him.

Nyctalope :-
https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=68478
A series of monthly issues from the late '40's.  The bloke, Jean Lynx, sees equally well in the dark as in the light. Not the same as the French pulp version SS mentions.
Wrost (Eh?) superheroes. How about Dishman? http://www.internationalhero.co.uk/d/dishman.htm
Crash mentions MF Cap Marvel, but Harvey had Jigsaw.  Just as daft? But at least his jigsaw bits stretched rather than coming off!.
Surely up there (down there?) are the 3 Dell "superheroes", Dracula, Frankenstein and Werewolf. Are there any saving graces for those 3?

Paw's memory of the Dell superheroes triggered my memory of 'Son of Vulcan' Even for Charlton, it was a second-rate effort.
We have two issues here.
https://comicbookplus.com/?cid=2410
There were only a couple of issues.
DC has the rights to the character but so far they have not been successful with it.
Quote
Created by Pat Masulli and Bill Fraccio in 1965, Son of Vulcan debuted in Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds #46, which promptly became the hero's solo title a few issues later.

Note issue # 50. Bill Fraccio, Tallarico, and the first professional script by Roy Thomas.
There are some Golden Age doozies, maybe a future theme for the reading group.

Having mentioned Jigsaw, I had a look for more info on Harvey characters. Their short-lived experiment featured quite a lot.  i'm not suggesting these are the worlds worst, but.............
So, for those who aren't aware of them, have forgotten them, or just don't care, have a read.  Happy memories for me as I love obscure superheroes and I remember finding a lot of the issues in a back issue bookshop in Glasgow.

At the bottom of the article there's a piece of fan art with all the Harvey heroes.
