An unknown superhero
« on: December 20, 2010, 09:38:10 PM »

I just got my copy of Tailspin from an ebay win. Stories listed on GCD made me expect generic war stories. To my surprise their was a colorfully clad avaition hero. No particular powers but has the outfit. I may be the first in the group to have seen this heretofore unknown superhero. Terribly written story with nothing special in the artwork but he meets one of my top collecting priorities. He is obscure. Be on the lookout for FIREBIRD after my JVJ scanning.

I realise some of you will have looked up Overstreet but for those who haven't, Tailspin is listed by Spotlight Pubs. Nov. '44 nn and the guide notes the appearance of Firebird.  Also lists L.B.cole but we'll have to wait for the scan to see if it's the costumed hero or some other stuff.  This is completely new to me and not in my obscure card file.  There are other masked/costumed flyers you might not have heard of but they are not American.  If anyone is curious, please let me know.

Great work.  Can't wait. Don't you just love obscure costumed heroes?
