There was also a good crowd at my lcs in Stirling but it's not hard to fill it 'cos it's tiny. Nevertheless, there was a real buzz, a lot of good humour and chat and, more importantly, lots of wee kids in and out with parents. Some of the parents were obviously new to the comics world and there were some interesting reactions. 5 free comics, whether or not you were buying bit I noticed that very few folk simply took the freebies and walked away. I spent far too much as Dave had got me the Sixth Gun book 3 tpb and there was a fair pile in my standing order. I took the Disney Donald Duck Family; 2000AD; Image primer thingy and the Mouse Guard hardback. The Disney titles can't be legally sold in the U.K. (according to Diamond) so, I could be given a free issue but the shop can't order the regular monthlies.
Hopefully, a lot of the first-timers and those just putting a toe in the water, will come back for more.
