Tank Joe?
« on: August 22, 2012, 10:57:16 AM »

I buzzed through a few dozen comics upon finding this great site.

In one of them I remember seeing a one-page, B&W comic (vignette in "another" longer ~36 pp. comic) that was about some tough blonde guy who was testing tanks. He lifts a tank over his head, he catches a shell, throws it back.

It wasn't until after I left the page that I realized it was an excellent study in "penmanship" and detailed inking, but with very simple form. Hence the value in going back to study it for my own future artwork.

Is such a comic familiar to anyone here?  TIA.

I'm sure others will know the answer right away but my first thought when you said b&w and a big blonde guy was, Thunderbolt Jackson, but I've had a flick through the 3 strips on CB+ and he swings a lot of stuff but no tank.

No, thanks, but it was a one-page "mini-comic" within a larger, serious comic about war.

Sorry, I've had a think but no luck.
