British Comic Book Archives Online
« on: November 05, 2008, 09:43:12 PM »

I love this site and have found a few comics I've been looking for over the years.  However,I was saddened to see no UK Diamond or Golden Age comic scans.  I set up the British Comic Book Archives Online and have tried to gather whatever scans I can get covering this period as well as a little later as a resource reference.

These are at:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/britishcomicsarchivesI/?yguid=192631557

My question is whether this group is just intended for US GA comics or whether UK scans from this period can be uploaded--if so the links can be taken from my site if they meet your criteria.

I'm also ALWAYS on the look out for UK GA scans!
Cheers
Terry

This site is for public domain books, though it mostly covers the United States by virtue of the fact that the copyright laws are the easiest to follow.

British books are probably of interest, but since UK copyright law (as far as I know) is unilaterally Life+70 Years, unless everybody associated with the book died in 1938 and didn't sell it to a company, it's likely that the entire European output would be unavailable.

Thanks for your willingness to share Terry, but on this matter we are trying hard to be firm.  Sticking with public domain books is the only way we can be mostly certain nobody will start throwing lawyers at us.
