Hello everyone

I joined a few days ago having come across the site when chasing T V Boardman annuals and comics.

I live in a rural part of England hence the title of this post. Badgers are plentiful around here but so are deer, pheasant, and other wildlife. Badgers just seem very English somehow.

I'm in my late sixties having been fortunate enough to miss the trauma of WW2 but lucky to grow up in the fifties and sixties when a great many of the films, comics and toys were based on that event. Although I still work full time running my own business I obtain great pleasure in reading and purchasing the items which gave me so much enjoyment as a youngster.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who feels they wish to make contact on any subject that may prove of common interest and hope to be an active and helpful member.

I would love to see some of the Fleetwood Thriller Library if you have any of those older ones that were based on novels etc if they are public demand.  I would also love the 12 issues of A CLASSIC IN PICTURES that were done in 1949.  If you couldn't tell, I'm the local CLASSICS ILLUSTRATED guy and I'm in my mid 70s.

I know we've been chatting elsewhere on the forum but a belated welcome to CB+, anyway.  As I'm 66, I couldn't agree more about growing up in the 50's and 60's and I suppose that's where my interest in pocket libraries, Swan and DC Thomson started.  Again, like you, I take great pleasure in finding and buying (also searching for scans of these relatively rare comics and annuals) those old comics I remember reading as a wee boy. You will find some tasty Swan entries in the UK section.  And when I get the files in some semblance of order - apart from anything else I'm having difficulty finding scanner attributions for them -  I will upload some late 50's Schoolgirls' Picture Library.
Unlike you, I'm retired, so all the more time to pursue the hobby.
