Hi, group. My name is Mike Gray, and I've been collecting and losing and collecting and losing and collecting and losing comics most of my life, so Comic Book Plus is definitely a trip down Nostalgia Lane for someone pushing seventy (and, believe me, it's pushing back).

The only thing I can think of which some of this group might find of interest relating to comics has to do with STAR TREK: I remember seeing the very first broadcast of the TV series back in sixty-six (that's NINETEEN sixty-six to you young whippersnappers), and that I once owned a Number One issue of the STAR TREK comic, which I finally traded to a dealer at a comics show. I had hoped for the $660 cash value of the price guides but had to settle for the equivalent in trade items.

Oh, I almost forgot: I also had a complete first edition collection of Russ Manning's MAGNUS, ROBOT FIGHTER, but a crazy canine shredded most of them. (No, as much as I wanted to, I didn't shred the canine.)

Finally: I publish a weblog relating to classic detective fiction (and, infrequently, crime-related science fiction), which explains my interest in Comic Book Plus (e.g., SPACE DETECTIVE). The blog is here:

Happy reading,
Mike

Welcome to CB+, Mike.  There are a fair number of us who are getting on a bit so you're not alone.
Interesting story about the Star Trek #1.  So many collectors seem to think they can get the book price in cash from a dealer - it just doesn't work that way as you found out.
I also had a set of the original Magnus.  A lovely looking comic indeed.
I recently re-read the first Toff story by John Creasey so I'm looking forward to enjoying your blog.

Thanks, paw. My weblog usually has high information density (lots of off-site links, for example), so be prepared to spend a little time there.

narfstar - Only 58? A mere yoot, as Joe Pesci would say.
