The earliest one I own from way back in 1905.
Union Jack 0111 - The Actor Detective

and a Zenith:

Union Jack 0996 - The Case of the Attwell Aircraft Company (Zenith the Albino)

Some SBLs

A difficult to find series 1 from 1925 with waldo.

Sexton Blake Library S1 374 - In the Night Watch

Series 3:

Current version has page 25 repeated twice instead of page 27.

Sexton Blake Library S3 161 - The Income-Tax Conspiracy

And 4 more 1948 fills.

Sexton Blake Library S3 177 - The Riddle of the Russian Bride

I've got about 120ish Union Jacks, have them scanned doubled page.  Need to split pages and convert from PDF.

Mostly 1000-1500 range  20ish in the 800-999 range.  few early ones.

SBL have a few series 1.   have few more in the post.

Series 2 have 30ish from a bulk buy, not the great quality but the text 99.99 readable. Working on scanning these just now.  plus a few more.

Being trying to collect some of the John G Brandon (d. 1941) ones with RSVP.  5 came with the bulk buy, 461,664, 670, 677, 739(last one before he died).  (Of cause sods laws that out of the 57? you have a scan of 664. )  plus 647 which came with bunch of 1948 series 3 ones.

Have 3 of his hardbacks with is original characters, as with the stories in the thriller mag.  difficult to gets as they were most never been reprint outside the 30s/40s.

Series 3+.

Have most of the fills for 300 to 391.  got 4 in the post so if they survive royal mail the only one i can't find is
334 The Teddy-Boy Mystery.

plus a few past 391.  is there a cut of number past 403 you don't want uploading.

got lot of the fills for 50-100.  need 56-58,75,79,84 (82,97-99 in post, cross fingers)

plus 21,31,41 below 50.

plus 111,154, 186, 204, 208, 219, 222,282,283,292

hopefully we can complete most of series 3, 4?.  filling the first 50 might be difficult?

series 1 and 2 i think will be a pipe dream.  there's a bunch of later series 2 on abebooks but to expensive for me at 25 plus nearly 5 quid p&p?

also have super detective lib 68 SB diamond hunt if that ok to upload?

will try and post a bunch every week.

also being ocr'ing the nelson lee library to create epubs.  to make them easier to read as lot of text can difficult to read on some of the scans.

have done a first past proof on first series: no. 4 to 55,57 and the st franks stories 111 - 146.
if anyone's interested.

Paul.

Nice stuff Paul.  We'd all look forward to having the UJ and SBL stories.  The Super Detective Library is interesting.  Unfortunately, we're not sure how far up the '50's to go with these AP books. So put it to the bottom of the pile for now, please.
It's a Sexton Blake story with art by Oliver Passingham and you can see examples of his work, this time on Lesley Shane, here:-

I have The Teddy Boy Mystery and I'll attempt to scan it when I get a new scanner sorted out.  I'm not really interested in the fourth series as l stopped buying them once W Howard Baker took over.

Thanks hoover.

Just paid to much for a new scanner my self so i could scan A3 or larger.  a fujitsu sv600.  slowing working out to get better scans with its 2 different modes.

As been born in 1970s its all historic fiction to me.  One of the advantages for me of Sexton Blake is the wide range in difference of story telling over its 80ish years of publication.   But I can see it would have been a bit of a shock at the time to long time readers.

Just wish some of series 1 and series 2 of SBL were easier to get hold of.  Who now how may copies of each survive, i'm guessing due there nature most were chucked after they had been read, and WWII would seen most existing copies recycled.

Have completed scanning the series 2 I have except for a bound volume starting with 390 - Death in the Jungle plus 4 or 5 more. (do have another copy of 389.) Still working on the best way to scan the rest.  Done few attempts of 390.  last attempt was good enough to get a good OCR pass in abbyy finereader with its page edit trick to straighten pages.  Love Gwyn Evans stuff, the mention of tiffin at the start reminded me of Carry on up the Khyber.

Going to start on the series 2 WWII area next.

Will try to upload some more tonight or tomorrow.

Paul.

Good stuff, a Waldo story ;D
Now, if you happen to stumble on any Dixon Hawke stories with Marko the Miracle Man..............
I'm a Nelson Lee fan so ESB stories are fine by me.

Talking of ESB:

Most of his tales in SOL were just reprints, but according the list on friardale there were 3 originals. friardale has two of them no. 4 and 120.

I have just uploaded the third no. 27, although my copy is missing a physical page containing p. 55 and 56 but it is better than not having a copy.

Schoolboys' Own Library 027 - The River House Rivals

Look like there was Marko story in Adventure which finished in no. 1200.  which just falls within the gap of missing issues on this site. 1150 - 1214.  1200 text is here:

I've uploaded a compilation of Marko the Miracle Man from the Adventure.  Knowing how keen D C Thomson were to re-use their material it is quite possibly a repeat from pre-war.
