That Hawkman artist you liked so much could well have been Sheldon Moldoff who draws that feature in a quasi-Alex Raymond style.

He spent many years at DC as one of Bob Kane's Batman 'ghosts' unsung and working in a VERY different style.

I'd love to see DC do a Doctor Occult Archive, but I'm not holding my breath.  Archives collecting the entire runs of titles like Amazing Mystery Comics, Keen Detective Comics, & Amazing-Man Comics would be fun as well, and probably preferable to volumes that only collected stories of the individual Centaur heroes.
