The wall is curved but the screen is flat. A flat screen is still very ahead of its time. The CRT picture tubes always had a curve to them.
I ran across a site years ago that had many early TV sets. The largest screen set I found was pretty impressive and should have been at well over $5,000 USD, in those days as much or more than a top of the line Cadillac.
