Major Grom - Plague Doctor may be what you are looking for. I worked on-and-off in Russia for much of the first decade of this century and watched the growth in comic book sales with glee - Marvel at first, to be followed by the extraordinary surge from Bubble Comics.

Now the first Bubble Movie Universe film is about to be launched - delayed until 2021 because of you know what - but there is a free 30-minute short movie available that whets the appetite and leads into the main feature:

Also Bubble have published Major Grom in English. Does 'Grom' have a specific meaning in Russian?

Don't know if there are any Dhoom! comics.

It means thunder - so he's Major Thunder. "Grom i Molniya" is "Thunder and Lightning" which is interesting - wasn't Mjolnir Thor's hammer? Thor of course being the God of Thunder.

Russians say grom slowly, like a growl - it even sounds like thunder!

I love the Dhoom series too - so stylish. My favourite is Dhoom 2 (with BOTH Aishwarya Rai and Bipasha Basu, I tell you I was on thrill-overload!)

Doesn't surprise me, It was the Vikings who sailed up river - they didn't stay on the coasts- and founded Moscow, as I understand and 'Rus' comes from 'Red', from red hair.

Also I have just discovered [the Prequel series?] 'Igor Grom', also in English, which looks like a good read when I get to it.
