Uploads from maximilian
« on: March 11, 2010, 07:25:57 AM »

This time I have Submarine Attack 042, Cowboy Love 011, and Battlefield Action 045.

Cowboy Love 011 is Fawcett 1951.

SA 042 and BA 045 are both Charlton 1963, presumed by me to be PD, subject to your approval.

It seems that ongoing threads listing uploads from each uploader is the preferred practice here. If so, then I will do the same.

Enjoy the comics!

Oh yes please do. This is need for me to know they are there to look for. For any Charlton after 1960 please post what the indicia says so I can be sure it is OK. If it has the copyright 19## then it may not be OK

Narfstar, my apologies on the Cowboy Love #11. Of course I did check, I just did not check or follow through correctly!
Thanks for the tip on the exact indicia info. The site has so many great comics I'm finding it difficult to find comics you don't already have. I saw the item about the possibilty of of Silver Age uploads and thought Here is my chance!

For those who need an easy way to remember the way to tell if a copyright is noted properly is to remember that it has to have all 3 parts - the name of proper copyright owner/claiment,the proper date (standard or roman numerals) and A proper copyright notice that is (1) the C in a circle symbol (

No problem Max glad about the interest. I just hate having to click delete (which is all I have to do) when someone went to the trouble of uploading it.

Here's my next batch of Charlton silver age uploads.

Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds 025  July 1961

Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds 029  1962 (missing inside cover)

Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds 033   December 1962

Mysteries of Unexplored Worlds 036   June 1963

Number 29 is missing the ifc.

Per narfstar's request the copyright info in the indicia of the other three issues reads as follows, just after the pricing info:

International copyright secured. All rights secured.

Narfstar, after uploading these I realized just how loopy I am from some kind Flu/headcold/whatever bug. If I really screwed it up, just let me know and I will redo. No need for you to try to fit the right issues with the correct info.

Thanks Max not up. When you are upgraded to VIP for your contributions you can upload directly to the Silver Side Street. Books  are not onsite thanks

You are welcome Astaldo711. It's good to be part of this.

Narfstar, I don't know what that means exactly. Will someone look and maybe approve them when they have the time?  Is it different because I definitely know these are sixties comics? No problem if I need to resubmit later.

Should I not upload any more silver age scans until I am a VIP? I remember seeing something on the messageboard about someone asking uploaders to email him a list of uploads so he could grant VIP status. Of course, I didn't save it. What is VIP status anyway?

I do have a handful of 1950s scans that are not onsite. Is it cool for me to uploaaad those, using my online file host as usual?

Whoa, that uploaaad spelling shows my condition right now. No uploads for a while, in any case.

Thanks guys.

Your books are onsite Max. The regular Charlton section is for pre1960 only. So I put your books in Silver Age Side Street. It does not show up on your choice of downloads because we do not want people filling it with books that we can not use. As a trusted VIP it would be opened up to you. Janus is the only one who can grant status changes. He should be around this weekend.

Thanks Narfstar, That explains things quite well. I will email Janus (or did he mean PM?) later this wekend when I am more coherent.

And really, I get an air rifle!?! Should come in handy for defending my tomato patch during these hard times.

I uploaded Crime Must Pay The Penalty 005 from Ace Comics December 1948. I added the file size (before zipping) because my uploads never show the file size and I don't see how to do it.

Oh, right after I pushed the upload button I realized that the V407 in the file name must mean it's a scan by vigilante407. No credit page insert this time though, so my befuddled mind was thinking it was a volume number! Yep, still battling that cold/flu/virus thing. enjoy!

In a burst of manic energy I have uploaded Suspense Detective 003 from Fawcett, the only issue missing from the 5 issue run. I  read this series this week, from this site, and an online friend just found 003. I really liked this series, suspenseful crime stories and fast paced action.

I have just uploaded Crack Comics 011, a paper scan missing the ifc, ibc, and bc. Over 50MB and the file size shows up this time, so hopefully I did it right this time.

I forgot to note that it was another version of an already onsite fiche scan copy. Hopefully Narfstar or someone can make sure that things won't get confused.

I added the 4shared.com link in the description this time.

I still have some questions about the upload process but I will wait first to see that this works correctly. My earlier uploads were all direct links to my 4shared.com file, and I had unknowingly never actually uploaded the comic to GAC. I will do that soonish and I will keep up all the 4shared.com files, as I had about a  100 downloads and Narfstar said no one complained. So that's cool and it helps with the GAC bandwith use.

I'm over the flu/cold/virus thing (I hope), now allergies are dropping by for a visit. I've got at least another dozen or two comics to upload (plus my original dozen) when I find the time.
