Looking for a weekend trip? In the UK? How about the Atkinson Theatre, Southport, to see the 70th anniversary exhibition for the Eagle, the lodestone of British boys comics in the 50s and early 60s. Entrance is FREE

Southport has some lovely examples of neo-gothic architecture, a pier and beach, an excellent model railway village but most important of all, it was the home of Frank Hampson, the creator of Dan Dare.
