Suspense Comics marks when I think comic companies started to focus on horror material in a considerably more dramatic manner, with the series evolving from relatively milder feelings of anxiousness and uncertainty in superhero, detective, and crime stories to more intense feelings of fear and shock in horror stories. This issue in particular even has either skull or demonic visuals on its cover and splash pages, as even the Sherry Flippe splash page has a skull on it.
