Don't know if the Wold Newton Universe has ever appeared on C B+, but if not, its about time.
I first came across it quite a few years ago while surfing the web. It was a revelation to me how many french comics and book characters were in existance, and european in general.
I had been a fan of Phillip Farmer's books so the name was familiar to me. Wold Newton was the name of a place in Britain when a stagecoach full of people was affected by a meteor. They all gained powers and were the ancestors - in Farmer's fiction - of Tarzan, Sherlock, Professor Challenger, Doc Savage and many More.

Alan Moore - most of whose work I am a fan of, is a post-modern writer - in that he reworks existing concepts.
Extraordinary Gentlemen is a bastard child of the Wold Newton Universe.
So Jump in and enjoy! But be warned, you can get lost in this stuff!
