Al Avison's cover is almost comically cartoony, while the interior artwork is either OK or really fine. The Bob Powell art on the mummy story is great (the splash panel especially) and the final (Bird-man) story is also very good. One nit-pick, in the first story, an Egyptian mummy returns to life and immediately speaks perfect English.

I got the impression he was speaking but they couldn't understand him. There was no exchange of words or real attempt on the modern human's part to communicate.
His intentions were clear enough after the first killing.
It might have been better to alter the balloons but I can't think of a shape that would have been suitable.
In some modern comics they put in a footnote saying "translated from" whatever language .
