Interesting premise: Barbie and Ken aren't "real people," instead the individual stories are fantasies concocted by the members of the Fan Club. Can't really imagine this translated to other comics. "Hi, I'm Jimmy Olsen! Let me tell you a story I made up about this fictional character called Superman and how he became my best friend!"

Also, the back page art gives Barbie a GIANT forehead.

On the other hand I can imagine that as a cover for a Jimmy Olsen issue. The sort of thing where kids go "Wait, Jimmy's real, but Superman's fake? Here's my dime." and inside is some silly story of Jimmy getting transported to another planet where to get room and board he pretends to be a clown (to explain his alien appearance) who entertains children with these wild stories of a Superman until Superman can find which world Jimmy has been transported to and rescue him. (Frightening how easily that story I just made up wrote itself.)
