I found this a bit sad. The stars, of course, are the world-famous Dionne Quintuplets, who were six at the time. It was just a tiny part of a vast promotional industry built around the girls which enriched a lot of people, not including the Quints themselves. Even the Ontario government cashed in by making the girls wards of the state and helping to turn them into a tourist industry. A custom nursery was built with an observation area where sightseers viewed the girls through one-way windows. Add to this parental sexual abuse and the misappropriation of the contents of their large trust fund, and you understand that the Quints had a less than ideal childhood. I find it odd that though the girls' first names are used in the strip the Dionne surname is never mentioned.

The art here is not by Brandon Walsh, but by Royal King Cole (his real name). He signed most of these dailies. Cole produced a Christmas strip each year between 1935 and 1940; the Quints strip was his last. It could be that Brandon Walsh's credit means that Walsh wrote the script. I haven't found confirmation of that.
