After toying with the idea for months, last night I decided to go start a "Jack Kirby" yahoo group. Yeah, I know... like the world really needs more of those. But I figure, if I'm running it, I can maintain some level of civility.
If anyone here's interested, you're invited. I sent out a bunch of invites last night, and 3 of them came back as WRONG e-mails. But one of those got in touch ANYWAY, and was the first one listed as "pending". Unlike how I'M "pending" at another Yahoo group (which, according to Yahoo, has had NO activituy for an entire MONTH!), I approved this person in less than a minute of seeing the "pending" notice.
By the way, if anyone wonders about that odd spelling, it turns out there WAS already a "Kirbyland" group... and there's been NO activity there for 5 YEARS! Imagine... someone just abandoned a perfectly good name like that, but didn't bother pulling the plug. I bet there's a lot of defunct groups out there like that.
