Hey there,
Not GA by any stretch, but I was just curious if there are any other Flaming Carrot fans out there.  I highly recommend it for anyone who enjoys a surreal style.

Is Bob Burden still doing new FC stories?   I remember reading them years ago but lost track somewhere along the way.  Very quirky but also often very fun stuff!

I spent some time with Bob Burden years ago, talking comics in general, and Flaming Carrot in specific.  At the time, he was adamantly opposed to seeing his work reprinted, as he felt it would compromise the value of the original.  Bob felt that the art, story, packaging, prining, (the comic as a complete thing) was the piece of art, right down to the staples, I guess.  Made it tough to find legal printed copies.

The work was absurdist, for certain.  If you know Bob, you'd quickly appreciate how he lives in and thrives in absurdism.  I haven't spoken to him in years.  I hope he's OK these days.

As far as I know he's not, his website doesn't look to have been updated in some time.  The most recent thing I've seen is a compilation put out in 2009.

Wow, that's quite interesting.  I wonder how he felt about the hardback compilations released a while ago.  Original copies are not something I've seen often.  I read quite a few from the collections I found in a local library and some random ecomics I stumbled onto.

Looking at his work, it's not hard for me to believe he felt that way about his art.
