Thanks crash, they are rather good.  Not sloppy romance, not murder and mayhem, but a mix of crime, intrigue, romance and some nasty characters.
But today another Buffalo Bill Annual:-
https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=97656
More McLoughlin goodness!!!!!
You'll find the other "new" Annual just above it.
(The book is dated 1955 but was published in 1954 in time to be bought as a Christmas gift. A common practice with British Annuals)

Thanks to the generosity of James Bacon and his colleagues, we are working our way towards hosting the 90+ issues of the fanzine Journey Planet. An excellent 'zine which covers various topics incl. comics.
I've uploaded up to #20 (a few issues missing but we'll get them later)
You'll find them here:-
https://comicbookplus.com/?cid=3830
You're sure to find lots to interest you.
Right, I'm knackered after concentrating on all the pre-upload stuff I had to do, I've got a belter of a cold and I still have to start preparing dinner before I collect my wife from the station. Excuse the ramble and enjoy Journey Planet. ;) ;D

Many issues have blank spaces which look like they contained images. A couple of covers as well. Were images pulled because of rights issues, or is it a technical glitch, or...?

Thanks crash.
No idea. I will ask James, but the issues are directly from their online download page.
I have no other source, or any way to check till I hear from James.
Leave it with me.
There are now 40 issues up on site. Could you check some of them please?

I'm beginning to wonder if the blanks are a problem with my browser rather than with the source. Would others out there check to see if you have the same issue? As an example use Issue 15:

https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=98085

As I see it the first four pages are blank as is page 10. Do you see it the same way?

It could be the conversion from pdf to .cbz.  I found it impossible to upload PDFs to the site so used a conversion tool.
I had a one man production line going, but it needed concentration so I'll stop until someone can figure this out. Meanwhile we'll see what James makes of it all.
Here's the link to the download page

OK, I think I've figured it out.  After trying various tools, I've managed to convert #1 to 7 and they look complete. Oddly, one of the tools converted the first few perfectly but the next one was still missing images.  It will take me a while to replace the incomplete files, so bear with please. Most of the higher numbers seem complete. You could all help by checking uploads and letting me know if anything is amiss.
I also had to re-number some issues and rename a few as the naming on the download page was a bit messy in places.

I had a quick browse and found a detailed interview with Alan Moore and an article on Lord Dunsany. So there is obviously excellent material for research and information on the comic, literacy and Science Fiction worlds.
With 90+ issues of 60 plus pages each. (5400 pages), to be of maximum use, the Title really needs its own searchable index. Its a valuable resource.
The fact that CB+ hosts fanzines is a definite plus. The site is PD, which limits the books we can host, but most members and lurkers are also interested in comic lore and history post PD time. 'Silver age' and on.
And the connection of titles characters, genres and creators from the 'Golden Age' to the further saga of the comic book world.
Thanks to the Lonely Planet guys for making the zine available and well-done Paw for your hard work and zeal.
cheers!

Apart from some dead links on the JP download page, we now have up to #85 available (or will have when the big CB+ mill processes them!)
I'll get a list of the missing numbers off to James at JP who reckons he can dig them up.
What strikes me as odd are the 1 star ratings for nearly every issue. No skin off my conk -I know good stuff when I see it.
The museums issue is also very good and I think I'll suggest JP gets a follow up museums issue together as I'd certainly like to contribute a couple of ideas, as, I'm sure, would others on CB+.
Time I was thinking about dinner - salade niçoise, crusty bread, a tasty wee French white. Just need to put all the bits together and open the wine. For our viewing pleasure this evening (if I can talk my wife into agreeing to watch it) one of the 3 Fantomas films. I bought the new blu ray box set. Not the silent serials, nor the 2 later, more serious versions, but the 60's, comedic at times, almost Bond rip-offs.

Think I found those and watched them on YouTube.  Just as there was a huge European industry of "Spaghetti western' films - many of which available on YouTube, there was also a huge number of what you might call 'Spaghetti Bond' films.  Many in both genres quite good.
