Don't know if I have to reaffirm this here, as I discussed it elsewhere, but I did manage to upload the three volume of collected Hydroman on DCM, since I could not do it here. The scans are NOT mine, and come from several sources. Also, I did little work on restoration or cosmetics because - as my experience on the MUCH shorter Spirit Newspaper section revealed, this is a tiring process at times. The work is essentially legible at any rate.

Thanks for your work in collecting and editing these. They will be grabbed from DCM and I hope Mark gets your upload problems figured out.

I am on the case ... it is definitely to do with file size. Smaller ones go through fine.

I have upped the amp to 11 out of 10 ... so can do no more there.

I am getting an Internet access upgrade here tomorrow allegedly 10 times the speed ... so we'll see if I still get the white wall of death. If I don't then it is an upload speed issue (big file takes longer to upload, but is cool when there)

We'll see. But this is not a two minute fix and maybe with our hosting account it may not be fixable (large files I mean). Will trial tomorrow

I put a post here yesterday (or thought I did but it seems to have disappeared maybe I am going senile).

Anyway let's do it again. I now have the internet on steroids here, it is VERY fast!!.

I tried uploading my 100mb test file that was giving me the white screen of death AND I got a message from our site saying that the file was too big! So already an improvement. I then upped the limits that our site sets and it worked fine.

Now I don't not think me upping the internal site limits will have any effect as it was rejecting a successful transfer in a graceful manner.

But what all this does mean is that the problem is one of time and not file size! We were seeing it with larger files as they take longer therefore causing the time problem. If that makes sense.

Anyway I have upped limits where I can so we'll see what happens ... but at least I know what the inherent problem is (or hopefully was).

I was certain (and actually am still convinced) that it is all caused by gremlins, and will not completely be fixed until they get bored and move on to someone's toaster oven.

Makes me glad I do not have a toaster oven. I do not need any gremlins
