Smileage Guaranteed
« on: July 13, 2013, 01:03:23 PM »

I thought I'd get in a plug for a recently published book that I helped work on ({I'm one of the credited co-researchers).  It's not comic book related but for anyone who likes reading and learning about vintage film comedies this will be one for you.

Thank You

I enjoy stuff like that but have far too much to read. I have some Little Rascals from Dell that the comics were not renewed and do not match show titles. Do you think Hal Roach studios will present any challenges?
Do you know if they would be willing to give us an endorsement?

The rights to the Our Gang/Little Rascals' shorts are in different hands these days.  The series ran from 1922-1944.  Most of the silent shorts are PD.  CBS Television Distribution has the rights to the copyrighted shorts from the late 1920s through the late 1930s (generally syndicated as The Little Rascals) and Warners owns the shorts from the late 1930s through 1944 (still known as Our Gang).

If the comics are PD I say post 'em.

Best
