COMING SOON: After they arrive and I get them scanned that is.  I ride bicycle. I have wanted these books and now they are coming: Shwinn Bicycle Book and Bike Comics. Along with the lot there are some little obscure gems, and everyone knows how much I love obscure. "Everyday's a Holly DAy", Three who Came Back", "Osterizeer the new Modern Meal Maker", and the one I am curious to see MISS CURITY COMIC Book with coloring stories.   None of these are indexed at GCD so I do not know what to expect which is half the fun.

Not only is the Miss Curity book not indexed, it is not even on GCD. I've been outbid on the Bike books before so when this lot of oddballs came up I sprang for the $25 since I think the biking books have usually gone for over $10 each. I have a 100K bike ride for Habitat for Humanity coming up this Saturday. I did it last year and both look forward to it and dread it.

Narf,

Again you've dug us up some great little oddities.

I remember my Kubert School teachers telling me that these commercial/promotional giveaway comics were often sought out by some artists because they generally paid better (sometimes much better) page rates than regular comic book publishers.
They might not always have been as cool of an assignment but when it came to putting food on the table for your family they were definitely something desirable.

Don't know who the artist is on Osterizer but Rosenberger on Holly Days and Plastino and others on Bike Comics gives some name brand stuff. I think of the talent on Buster Brown comics and figure it must have paid well

I also noticed that Bike Comics had art by Dow Walling, best known for his 1932-1952 comic strip Skeets, and Vic Herman, who did quite a number of short comic fillers in comics, lots of gag cartoons in magazines, and a good number of these promotional comic books; but who is probably best known by many comic fans for having created Little Dot for Harvey Comics.

Is all Narf. Now available in SA Charlton. In the cbz file the NARF cover appears last but in the preview it appears first. Just a little fun that actually took me hours.

A reprint of number 1 now available in St John. How do I know it is a reprint of #1? Because I have both.

Can we say Little Lulu ripoff!   Sheesh, this is as blatant as something Martin Goodman would churn out.

Anyone know who wrote or drew this one.  Nothing on it at GCD.

Curious

Narf, I see #23 is up but no #28.  Instead there has been another copy of issue #17 added.  Did you accidentally upload the wrong issue yesterday?
