The Tip Top Book 1952 (strips only)
« on: August 29, 2013, 05:08:10 PM »

I've uploaded the 1952 Tip Top Book. The first issue of Tip Top Comic was 21st April 1934 and the last issue was 29th May 1954, after 727 issues it was swallowed up by a new comer TV Fun. Tip Top was a typical British comic that changed little over the years and that was probably the cause of its demise. Over the year some of UK's greats worked on the strips Reg Parlett, Roy Wilson Bertie Brown and Terry Wakefield.

I have a copy of the May 6th 1939 issue(8 pages for one Old Penny), the cover has Happy Andy and his Playful Pets who also appear in the 1952 Book and the back page has A Western Picture Story serial featuring Ken Maynard a "B" Western film star.I will attempt at some point to upload this but it is 11 inches wide and 15 inches tall and I only have an A4 scanner.

It is a difficult comic to find examples of and many people have not only never seen it thay have also never heard of it. It would be interesting if members have any in their collections.

Now available to all our readers.  Sorry it took me so long.  First time I've encountered the Red Falcon strip.
