Can"t read the download

OK. After much hassle; I finally download  a comic and my computer (Windows xp) says it cant find the file type extension or something to that effect. It can"t read the CBR type file, altho my WINRAR will show a serries of dimunitive pages I can't enlarge. Do I need some special software to read these CBR files? I am a computer retard so please help an old guy out.  Boomer40.

IZArc, FilZip, & CDisplay tend to open up any file from the download site.
