Vince Colletta's inks slicked up innumerable Charlton romance stories, but I have a tough time figuring out who pencilled what (with the exception of Charles Nicholas, who usually gives himself away with his layouts and his men's faces). The penciller of the first story here is tantalizingly familiar, but...

Does anyone recognize him/her?

If you look on the first page, on the paper on the desk it is signed SG. This is usually a definite Sam Glanzman. Even the GCD puts a ? by Sam. I have a guess. The SG is not like Glanzman usually put it. I think that is because he did not ink this issue. I think his inks show through stronger than his pencils. My guess is he may have penciled it and someone else strongly inked it.

I missed the "SG" on the pad. However the drawing definitely isn't Sam Glanzman, no matter how heavily he might have been inked. Besides, Glanzman almost always signed with his middle name, "SJG." After some pondering and Googling, I concluded the penciller is probably Sal Gentile. Though best known as Charlton's editor after Dick Giordano moved to DC, Gentile is credited with pencilling and inking romance stories as early as 1957 and as late as 1971. He also seemed to have done a lot of inking, though the inking here is surely Vince Colletta.
