I'm really excited to see some of the books here.
I have this idea we can use heroes from the public
domain to tell brand spanking new stories.

I'm also interested in finding the hidden gems to
adapt into short screenplays for well done youtube
videos.

I'm in Virginia right now taking care of family business,
but will be in LA in a few months ready to trailblraze
a new public domain path. Imagine a show coming
out that was well funded where the community could
contribute by making their own versions and side stories.
Where characters weren't owned like slaves by their
respective creators, freed from those shackles, people
would be able to contribute their love for something
that is worth loving. Old comics, new versions, shorts,
documentaries, even features are possible.

Hey, well maybe I'm getting ahead of myself here. Start
small, scale it up. But first, downloading.

Public domain was created for the purpose of freeing up properties so everyone can use them free.

Sure, Public Domain is awesome in that regard. So why not create a universe comprising all the biggest stars in stories where fans are encouraged, not discouraged, to make their own creations from the source material? It would be really fun to work in that environment.

Are you familiar with copyleft and the various creative commons licenses? Very neat stuff there.

So the money would be donations for digital copies and cost of materials plus a percentage for printed publications. There's a way to do it and keep it all pretty much public domain.

Not familiar with copyleft. Charlton Arrow on Facebook has revived the public domain Charlton. The first issue is available digital or second printing. The second issue will be out next month. Awesome stuff by some of the original contributors and new talent.

Apparently Image comics continues the lines of several Public Domain Titles as well
