Tinsel Town

At the Glasgow comicon last Saturday, I met David Lucarelli, who had a table and was selling some Alterna comics.  My pal Gavin and I got chatting to him and we both bought the 5 issue mini series, Tinsel Town.  What a good, wee comic.  Not a superhero in sight but a well written and illustrated (by Henry Ponciano) tale of a female cop in LA in 1915, working for Universal Studios in their quasi independent city.
A most enjoyable read and, a newsprint comic.  Physically, it looks and feels different to all those shiny, often style over substance books we have nowadays. imo, all comics should be newsprint.  Here's the Alterna site. Scroll down for a look at the 5 covers.

Thanks for the tip Paw! I usually read or dismiss alternate comics depending on the qualtity of the art.I find that to be a guide to the quality of the writing. If the interior art is as good as the covers, I wish them well.
Cheers!
