anyone know title of this comic story??
« on: July 09, 2019, 06:31:07 PM »

hello. In the 70's I read comics like beano, dandy and other similar. . .
there was a story line that always followed this idea. . .

a group of characters would hear a bit of gossip, but it always ended that they heard a sentence of missing words and got the wrong idea, then at the end the full sentence would be revealed, with the missing words revealed. . . funny funny with the difference.

Any one recognise the story line and know the characters and the comic it is from?
Thanks.

That happened a lot in The Broons, but that was in the Sunday Post and the every second year annuals.
I'm sure that plot idea was used a lot in a number of strips but I can't just remember where else.

Can't be 100% sure but I think 'the Perishers' used that too. That device was a commonplace in British comedy, stage, radio and early TV.
