 im new here but have enjoyed comics and monster fanzines, i was reading comics in the mid fifties,what were your favs? mine besides the usual super people, turok son of stone,tarzan,beetle baily,spookie,classics illustrated,horror- started with fm #8 and stayed with them up to 1966,went to college, question why dont they have all the monster mags in one spot not in three?

Like your Avatar. The two Classics Illustrated versions of Jules Verne's Robur the Conqueror stories were definite favorites of mine. Inspiration, of course, for Jack Kirby, who created the SHIELD Helicarrier.  I'm surprised you haven't called yourself Robur!
No Tarzan, Turok, Classics Illustrated or Beetle Bailey here, they are protected properties and are not public domain. Plenty of Jungle Comics tho.Like this one.

To answer your question, I would nominate 'besides the usual super people', Dr Solar, Space Family Robinson and Magnus, Robot Fighter. (in Particular)

Like you, Robur, sorry, flying t, I was reading comics in the '50's  but British comics as American comics weren't widely available till around 1959, so a lot of pocket libraries like the ones Panther mentions and others.  Later, into the '60's, some weeklies, Victor, Beezer.
I read as many superhero books as I could, British and American.  In the 50's I discovered The Phantom and I've been reading his adventures since. 
Magnus was a favourite, and I loved and still do, the late 50's - early 60's Worlds Finest, Detective and Batman.  Silly but great fun.
