Vic Terry has grown on me as a character with his quirky tales – this one involves a devil of a horse leading a devil-may-care handler through a journey of atonement and redemption.

I agree, Vic Terry is an interesting strip. From all the (often terrible) cut and paste it's clear this was originally a newspaper strip. Does anyone know in which paper it originally appeared? Every Google result only turned up "Super Detective Library."

I've had a look and the strip appeared in the Aberdeen Evening Express, mid '50's.  AEE is a DC Thomson paper.
The strip seems to have been in the Newcastle Evening Chronicle also.
