These issues are all very interesting for history buffs, since they were issued during the First World War and much of the content (including the adverts) is war-oriented.

Thanks for all these dwllt - I'm slowly working my way through them. They are a fascinating social document and surprisingly open in their satire of the generals and politicians of the day - moreso perhaps than we find today. I think I've learned more about the chaos theory of war from reading these old Punch editions than from any academic journal.
