A quick dip into the Lion in 1960 shows a time of change. Old characters like Paddy Payne and Sandy Dean look tired beside the totally surreal Robot Archie as he battles the ju-ju cult of the Lion-Men in darkest Africa. Meanwhile, Captain Condor enters into a mind-meld with a devo and Reg Bunn’s PI Rory McDuff is tricked into going to Norfolk (believe me, there’s no other reason to go there)

The Lion on the cusp of its golden age from 62-69 – terrific stuff! By the way, whatever happened to pram racing, that was great fun! We used to do it up and down the street but you don’t see kids doing things like that outside in the street anymore.
