This one's for Robb!

Happy Birthday to Tony Strobl, who would be 105 today.

Tony left us in 1992 but not until he'd invented some of my favourite Duckworld characters - including Vonda Von Duck of Zonrovia, a possibly underused character with huge potential

Tony was a decent artist, who became underappreciated late in his career, due to his nice pencils being destroyed by poorer quality inkers, and the continuing degradation of the quality of the paper used by Western publishing, to try to save money, as well as his having to more than double his page output due to an unfavourable divorce settlement, severely degraded the quality and appearance of his work.  His early comic book work during the 1940s and early 1950s was quite good(Bucky Bug, 3Little Pigs, Snow White & 7 Dwarfs, Dumbo, Thumper, Pinocchio, etc.).

After Carl Barks, he was probably the most prolific page producers for Western' Disney Comics production over the 1940s through the 1960s.
