Behold! This is the greatest story line of the Golden age. The MONSTER SOCIETY OF EVIL!

Outside of the individual comics there have been two releases of this storyline. One was once widely available but is now old and extremely expensive. The other was for some reason taken off Amazon's site despite it being part of the DC Classics Library. I'm not Certain if anybody actually bought it. Therefore here is all 25 issues with all of the action, adventure, suspense Cliffhangers, and comedy you could ask for! what's as Capt. Marvel battles the mysterious Mr. mind and his henchmen across the world in a titanic struggle, set during dark and horrific days of world war two. Read as Mr. mind throws all sorts of inventive and terrifying schemes for world conquest with the help of the forces of Imperial Japan Nazi Germany. Unlike any previous releases these issues are com stories held within issues... plus an exciting issue of Minuteman featuring one of the most bloodthirsty and nightmarish foes of golden age, the murderous Black Poet!  Will Capt. Marvel be able to survive this relentless assault? Who is Mr. mind? How large is the gigantic organization of of murder and destruction that our hero faces? Find out!

As with many comics this one is unfortunately quite racist in its depiction of the one African-American character in these issues as well as the Japanese. But that only serves to remind how far we have come and how stereotypes of African-Americans and others still stop us from claiming any note of triumph in our supposed equality.

Dr Mindshadow... thanks for this! I actually own the original book that reprints the Monster Society of Evil. I scored it in a used bookstore a few years ago for $25. I had long heard of this legendary golden age story and wa spretty excited. The book is impressive on the outside, being large and in a slipcase. However, on the inside, it's less than satisfying. For some bizarre reason, the publisher decided to reformat the panels onto a black background. They put more space between the panels and so the visual continutiy is broken up and the whole thing is really hard to read (for me, at least). So I am delighted to get your file! I look forward to MSOE 2. I wonder what happened to the volume that was mentioned on Amazon... I noticed it, too and then it vanished from their site.

Well, it's listed with the following caveat: "This title will be released on April 12, 2011" - Maybe amazon.com folks decided not to post anything not available within a year. And it doesn't give the size, either. If it's the same as the other books in the "Classics Library" series, it won't be anything like the oversized original reprint.
