Triumph and Champion are my two favourite story papers. This one contains a Hal Wilton detective story – Peter Farrell was similar in some ways to Sexton Blake (I wonder if they ever met?). Hal’s real name was Frank Stuart Pepper (1910-89) and he also used John Marshall, Mark Grimshaw, Ruper Hall and John Morion. Frank’s greatest achievements were the creation of Roy of the Rovers and Captain Condor.

This intriguing tale of abduction has a neat resolution at the end.
