Looking for something fun - in an Asterix kind of way?

Dhimon Gupta's DaBong Diaries that began with A Rare Eggs-perience in 2017 should satisfy your craving - available from all the usual outlets.

The third in the series - Out of This World - has just been released. With good timing, it is set in Ladakh, scene of a recent contretemps between Chinese and Indian forces - I wonder if they clashed whilst searching for the aliens?

Happy Birthday to Pran Kumar Sharma - 82, today, had he not left us seven years ago.

The Walt Disney of India brought us much over the years, especially Chacha Chaudhary who teaches all Indian youngsters to respect their elders but my favourite is the cheeky Pinki. I also like that denizen of style, Billoo.

This one intrigues me. I've always felt Dorian Gray was a character that more could be made of - imagine an eternally young secret agent or detective - much like Virginia Woolf's Orlando, I guess:

You may not know, but Alan Moore used Orlando as a major character in the last arc of 'The league of extraordinary gentlemen' . [You are definitely not likely to see that one on the screen. You can have a lot of fun with that book, figuring out who all the characters are.Not to mention the faces in the crowd. There is probably a guide to it somewhere.

Cheers!

Indian mythology is so rich in stories of heroes and villains that it's great to see them emerging in a modern era of high-tech animation.

The Legend of Hanuman on Disney looks great and produced by Indians should avoid some of the more patronising stereotypes made by western companies in the past.
