Hedy Lamarr

Hedy Lamarr has always ranked as one of the three deceased people I would like to have met in their prime - not because she was a beautiful movie actress (though that's a part) but because she was a strong, mega-intelligent woman who was forced to life on the edge and triumphed over unbelievable difficulties (whilst also inventing a form of radar in her spare time)

The others I would like to have met are Madame de Pompadour and Mata Hari (which three would you choose?)

So, I'm looking forward to the new BD from William Roy:

Co-incidentally I have just finished a biography of Hedy Lamarr [Eva Maria Kiesler] The most interesting thing about her is her inventiion of frequency-hopping, turned down during WW2 by the Airforce, which became the principle behind Secure WiFi, GPS And Bluetooth.

Some great links there - thanks.

Oddly, I've just woken after falling asleep in the sun (not recommended) and dreaming of Hedy Lamarr and Burt Lancaster starring in a fotoroman - now that would have been something!
