COPS Animated Series

Does anyone else remember this show? When my son was small, it was his favourite and I sat through a couple of dozen episodes with him. It seems to have had poor reviews but I rather liked it - there was a strong sense of self-parody that underpinned the whole thing, a strong film-noir feel and lots of inventive characters and gadgets

I'm not suggesting I would want to watch it again - but I'm surprised it didn't spawn comic books and toys. Missed potential.

I loved the cops toon back in the day. It confused & frustrated the hell out of me when the more famous, live action, show of the same name came out a little bit later. I still can't wrap my head around the notion of a show about police STEALING a name like that.
(For those who don't know, the cartoon came out in 1988, then the unrelated reality show cameout in 1989, somehow managing to steal the name.) After the reality show came out, reruns/syndicated airings of the cartoon changed their name to "Cyber COPS".

The cops cartoon had a great atmosphere. I would watch it after schhol every day, alongside ninja trutles and the original mario bros show (though I didn't watch the mario cartoons, I just liked the live action segments and the adventures f link eps on fridays).
One thing that sticks out in my mind is the fact that the voice of Big Boss (the head villain) is the same as Quackpot, from the similarly obscure Dinosaucers cartoon.

Anybody who remembers Dinosaucers is A-One in my book. I designed backgrounds for that show and even wrote an episode. It was a mad project. We had to produce one complete model pack a day for 52 days, leading to lots of overtime (unpaid, of course) and a manic circus atmosphere in the bullpen. Strange days. So does anyone remember The Hurricanes?
