Superb insight into the early 1900s! For example, in the first panel the train conductor must read a description of the passenger that was written on the ticket- because almost nobody had driver’s licenses or other “government ID” in the early 20th Century!

I wonder how often writing down a ticket buyer's description happened in daily life. I've read plenty of 19th and early 20th century fiction and this is the first time I've encountered the practice. So many people rode trains they couldn't have done it for everyone. Maybe it was something they did for expensive long distance tickets.
